Munich-based start-up goes from zero to TOP CONSULTANT in two years

Munich/Oldenburg – Award-winning consulting quality: Only two years after its foundation, Transform8 GmbH has been awarded the TOP CONSULTANT Seal 2022. At the award ceremony during the German SME Summit on Friday, 24 June in Frankfurt am Main, former Federal President Christian Wulff congratulated the Transform8 consultants on their success. Wulff is mentoring the consulting competition. The foundation for the award is the evaluation by reference customers.
When entrepreneurs Richard Ranftl and Viktoria Hell, along with their team of six, separated from KPMG, they never thought that just two years later, they would be among the best mid-sized consultants in Germany. But that’s exactly what has now been confirmed for them with the TOP CONSULTANT seal. Transform8 convinced in the prestigious competition, which this year selected the best medium-sized consulting companies for the 13th time.
Since the company was founded in 2020, the young consultancy based in Oldenburg and Munich has made a name for itself primarily with its expertise in the field of digitalisation and business intelligence. Consulting services range from more efficient reporting and planning processes to the development of individual solutions for clients, such as a chatbot in the production environment. The aim is to always provide the customer with a real benefit and to make the daily work routine easier. The consultants at Transform8 also value an equal partnership with their clients, working collaboratively to develop and implement the best solutions for their customers. “We want to empower companies, not control them. For us, this means actively and often long-term support of our clients, but without creating dependencies and with the clear goal of making our clients’ daily work easier through tool support,” explains Richard Ranftl, Co-founder and CEO of Transform8.
This approach also seems to resonate well with the clients of the young company. The TOP CONSULTANT competition is based on a survey of medium-sized companies that have already worked with the participating consultancies. This survey is conducted by compamedia on behalf of the Scientific Society for Management and Consulting (WGMB) based in Bonn. The reference clients nominated by Transform8 provided information, for example, on how professional the management consultants appeared, how satisfied they were with the consultancy service and also whether they would recommend Transform8 as a consultancy. According to the WGMB, what is important is “a client-oriented, SME-oriented advisory service” (for more information on the test criteria, see www.top-consultant.de/pruefkriterien). Out of the 191 consulting firms that applied this year, 152 of them received the coveted TOP CONSULTANT seal.
“The size of the client has never really mattered to us. Our team has always been committed to treating small and medium-sized businesses with the same level of professionalism as large corporations. We combine this professionalism with the speed and agility that are especially needed in the medium-sized sector,” explains Viktoria Hell, co-founder and managing director. The fact that this is a successful approach is also evident in the rapid growth of Transform8. Despite its foundation in the Corona year, the team, which works on the principle of trust and has no hierarchy, has grown to 40 employees – organically and despite an acute shortage of skilled workers.

Decisive for the award of the TOP CONSULTANT seal of quality is a client-oriented, medium-sized business consultancy service. The participant field of the competition, organized by compamedia since 2010, consists mostly of management, IT, and HR consultants.
